Meet The Drivers

Driver No 1
Sophi Heilig
The older Daughter of a farmers family in the Styrian Mountains of Austria Sophi is a reserved girl but will stand up and speak for others when required. She has always dreamed of being a professional racing driver. Sophi’s days of glory would come to fruition as she was offered the chance to drive for Autosportrennen. Now winning back to back Championship Titles for both herself in the Drivers and simultaneously for the Team in the Constructors Sophi aims to achieve a three time winning streak.

Driver No 2
Jason Millar
A brash young man who is seemingly disowned by his own family in Ottawa Jason Millar joined the team after his Driver Academy recommended him. Last season he was in a tight and fierce battle with Tammy Edwards but was miles behind his teammate who won without breaking a sweat. Believing his car to be inferior to hers despite being the same specification he is on the hunt for a Drivers title of his own. How will his relationship with his teammate fair throughout the season?

Driver No 8
Baozhai Huang
A semi seasoned Driver with only her first full season from last year Baozhai Huang spent a lot of her time covering for several drivers in her reserve role. Last year was her break through and this year she must make sure that the last season wasn’t just a fluke.

Driver No 9
Kloé Virtanen
The cold, calculating and no nonsense Number 1 Team Driver for the Scottish based SERT team. Kloé Virtanen remains a strong Championship Challenger. She lost out on the championship last season after numerous clashes with her former teammate James Fox ending up with both cars out usually and dropping down the order in the standings drastically. Something seriously wrong would need to occur to stop the Flying Finn from earning her well-deserved and illusive Second Driver’s title. Virtanen comes from Imatra in the Karelia province of Finland.

Driver No 13
Niamh O'Sullivan
The lucky Irish girl of Donegal No 1 Driver for the BRAMS Team Niamh O’Sullivan is a strong contender for the Drivers Title with her British counterpart remaining a good teammate by her side. She has missed two races from last season after a wrist injury from a serious crash in Belgium at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. She hopes to avoid another unnecessary collision in her pursuit of the Title.

Driver No 22
David McGregor
A proud Scotsman it’s no wonder why David was eager to sign on for the Scottish team when a seat opened at the end of the last season. He knows his place as a number two Driver but that doesn’t mean he has any intention of backing down and letting Kloé have it easy. He intends to fight for every single point that is available.

Driver No 26
Lorenzo Ricci
Italy’s hero, Lorenzo is one of the only Italian Drivers that is active in the top levels in motorsport in a time where the sport is severely lacking in traditional Italian talent. His teammate is more competitive in terms of pure speed but his lack of speed is made up in his superior strategy calls and even car setup so even on a bad day he is prepared for any eventuality.

Driver No 30
Blaise Lavigne
Another veteran of Formula International, Blaise has been with a total of four teams in their career. Though never winning the Driver’s Championship they are still a very senior figure in the sport and a role model to most of the junior drivers and even their own young sons who want to follow the racing path too. They are in their 20th season and there is no telling how many more there are left.

Driver No 33
Akasuki Ito
Nicknamed “The Buzen Bullet” Akasuki hails from that city in Fukuoka in Japan. A relatively seasoned Driver with only two podium finishes to his name missing out on victory on several occasions in Formula International. Determined to achieve that first win he will press on though he has a rookie in tow for this season.

Driver No 34
Sakura Akimoto
The last of the rookies for this season. Sakura Akimoto is the recently crowned champion of the Nippon Open Wheeled feeder series which saw the Tokyo team sign her the moment her predecessor Jin Kobayashi made his announcement to retire from Formula International. With no points to her name she is determined to make an impression, at 5ft 1 she is one of the smallest Drivers on the grid.

Driver No 42
Gabriel Wright
Gabriel Wright hails from Carterton in New Zealand and is a Rookie Driver for the Howzer team. A recent addition to the racing world who has made the cut, he hopes his time under the leadership of the legendary Austrian Driver Viktor Howzer will help him flourish as a Driver through pace, race craft and all the essentials for a Champion.

Driver No 45
Ruby Thornton
Hailing from the City of Quebec in Canada, Ruby Thornton is the second of four children. While her siblings are set for normal lives Ruby will not concede and wants a more exciting one. After signing for her Academy she is ready to prove she has what it takes to compete. The other Rookie of the Howzer team she will not hesitate to speak her mind but in her excitement she usually unintentionally switches to her native French Tongue.

Driver No 48
Amelia Thomas
The Daughter of a past two time Champion, Michael “Mike” Thomas, Amelia hopes to live up to the household name. She understands her role in supporting her friend and teammate in winning the Championship but is nearly ready to carry the torch for the team when necessary. Her brother competes in GT (Grand Touring) racing

Driver No 54
Tomas Garcia
The oldest Driver on the grid and one of the all time greats Tomas Garcia is still in his prime with the ability to fight Drivers almost half his age. With a promising start at 2030 with his current team the car has become inferior though he managed to seize three podium positions to add to the Scuderia’s illustrious trophy cabinet in the last season. Despite his age Tomas insists he isn’t going anywhere just yet.

Driver No 57
Jacob Butler
The “Gentleman Driver” from Cambridge, Jacob Butler is a well known and respected Driver in the paddock. He’s been paired with James Fox, though reluctant as most drivers would be he must bear the arrogant Driver to finish in the midfield where he realistically sets his sights. He has his Cousin Issac a former professional Racing Driver to fall back on for support. He is the favoured No 1 Driver for the team though his teammate is undoubtedly furious about it.

Driver No 74
Louis Maes
One of the many rookies joining the grid for the season Louis Maes hails from the small war scarred city of Ypres in Belgium. His inspiration to become a Racing Driver came from watching a race at the Belgian race track Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The famous high speed downhill corners to the main straight was enough to convince him. Now in the top racing league he has a chance to race as a local hero for his home crowd during the European stage.

Driver No 76
Margarida Sousa
A seasoned Driver of the Sport Margarida Sousa has missed out on an opportunity to race for Autosportrennen due to her contract obligations and is a favourite to replace either Sophi Heilig or Jason Millar in the near future. Only time will tell. For now she must partner up with her veteran teammate to keep the current team fighting in the midfield.

Driver No 81
James Fox
The hot headed North Dakotan driver from Medora. Arrogant and possessing an inferiority complex. He more or less bought his way into the team by bringing big sponsors. Sponsors from his family’s various business enterprises no less, he drives a Lamborghini Aventador, that’s how much money he has. Nevertheless his brash behaviour from the last season has had him change teams and already demoted him to the No 2 Driver in the Team. We shall see how long he is willing to tolerate this.

Driver No 88
Emelia Konig
A veteran of the Sport Emilia König in a way is the heart and soul of the sport well known for her sense of humour and her equality campaigns outside the sport. She became the current head of the Driver’s Association following her unannounced sacking from her former team after the birth of her first son Noah. Her responsibility to keep participants and spectators safe is taken very seriously, if a race looks too dangerous to go ahead she will make sure it’s cancelled.

Driver No 98
Manon Toussaint
A respected and senior figure in Formula International Manon is one of the toughest racers, even if the car is second rate, she has a tendency to win points and on occasion manage to claim a podium position based on a flexible strategy most notably in races where weather conditions are mixed. One to watch out for as she aims to help secure another fourth-place finish for her team in the team standings.
